Tisarbon® PC is the registered trade mark for Polycarbonate compounds produced by Tisan.
Polycarbonate is a member of the best known amorphous engineering polymers. High light transmission properties and optical applications are preferred. Structure is very sensitive to moisture so as to use special injection conditions is very important. Polycarbonate possesses excellent impact strength, high heat resistance and good dimensional stability. Although it is stable to water, mineral and organic acids, it is partially soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, soluble in the chlorinated ones and decomposes in strongly alkaline substances. It has good electrical properties. Products made out of polycarbonate boast a long life and allow efficient reusability.
Tisarbon® PC compounds is the excellent impact resistance even at low temperatures. Dimensional stability is high; ageing resistance is excellent if parts are produced without internal stresses.
Tisarbon® PC being a good electrical insulator having heat and flame resistant properties, it is used in myriad products associated with electrical and telecommunications hardware.
Tisarbon® PC can produce very smooth surfaces the automotive industry that make it well suited for direct metalised parts such as decorative parts and optical reflectors.
Tisarbon® PC compounds with better self-lubricating properties are available by adding substances able to improve the tribological properties of the material.
Tisarbon® PC, formulations can also be developed to meet specific market needs.
Tisarbon® PC is a fully recyclable material and it can be reused after regrinding.
The user shall always verify that the compound obtained by mixing virgin and reground material is suitable for the specific application and that its properties meet the requirements.
Tisarbon® PC grades can be provided fully colored in customized colors with narrow color specifications colorability even in light colors.
Main specifications
Modification of PC by compounding with glass fiber, carbon fiber, flame retardants and additives produces a substantial change in the properties of the polymer resin and gives to compositions based on Tisarbon® PC the following properties:

Packing & Storage
Tisarbon® PC are supplied in pellet form in moisture-proof 25 kg aluminum layer bags. Other forms of packing like octabins and big-bags with PE or aluminum in-liners are also available. During storage the material should be keep away from moisture and heat. A dry storage room or area is recommended, also sacks are used to protect the material from damage. Damaged material or ripped sacks should be closed tightly or transferred to metal containers and in some cases, drying may be necessary before use.
