Tisapet® PET

Tisapet® PET is the registered trade mark for Polyethylene Terephthalate compounds produced by Tisan.
Polyethylene Terephtalate is a thermoplastic resin of the polyester family and is commonly used in many different products, including synthetic fibers. It can exist in both a transparent and a semi-crystalline polymer. Polyethylene terephthalate is a polymer that is formed by combining two monomers: modified ethylene glycol and purified terephthalic acid. PET can be modified with additional polymers as well, making it acceptable and usable for other uses. PET offers several different advantages. PET can be found in many different forms, from semi-rigid to rigid. This is largely dependent upon its thickness. It is a lightweight plastic that can be made into a number of different products. It is very strong and has impact resistant properties as well.

 

Tisapet® PET has excellent mechanical properties like stiffness and outstanding creep properties even at high temperatures. Tisapet® PET is also extremely durable with very low wear loss and co-efficient of friction.

Tisapet® PET is ideal for demanding applications needing close tolerance strength and stiffness because of its high strength.
Tisapet® PET provides creep resistance where keeps the shape same under the stress. This property is important in automotive applications.
Tisapet® PET provides high temperature thermal and oxidative stability. This makes Tisapet® PET ideal for demanding automotive applications.
Tisapet® PET, formulations can also be developed to meet specific market needs.
Tisapet® PET is a fully recyclable material and it can be reused after regrinding.

The user shall always verify that the compound obtained by mixing virgin and reground material is suitable for the specific application and that its properties meet the requirements.
Tisapet® PET grades can be provided fully colored in customized colors with narrow color specifications Colorability even in light colors.

Modification of PET by compounding with glass fiber, carbon fiber and modifiers produces a substantial change in the properties of the base material and gives to compositions based on Tisapet® PET the following properties;
Excellent level of wear resistance, high flexural modulus, low coefficient of friction, high stiffness, high thermal stability, attractive surface, high dimensional stability, higher productivity and total cost-down solutions. Flame retardant compound with halogen, UL94 V-0 classifications, glow wire flammability index, glow wire ignition behavior (no flame), low smoke density.

Fillers / reinforcements / modifiers
Glass fibers-carbon fibers-are available with varying contents in different combinations. Heat stabilizers-hydrolysis stabilizers-lubricants-UV stabilizers etc. are being used in non-reinforced and reinforced grades to increase specific material properties.

Packing & Storage

Tisapet® PET are supplied in pellet form in moisture-proof 25 kg aluminum layer bags. Other forms of packing like octabins and big-bags with PE or aluminum in-liners are also available. During storage the material should be keep away from moisture and heat. A dry storage room or area is recommended, also sacks are used to protect the material from damage. Damaged material or ripped sacks should be closed tightly or transferred to metal containers and in some cases, drying may be necessary before use.
